Introducing the New Radius Product Ordering Guide

By Katie Van Blargan, Customer Service Team Lead & Marketing Strategist

At Meridian Products, we’re always looking for ways to improve product performance, efficiency, and sustainability. Radius products involve a high level of custom specifications, and having the right information upfront is the key to a timely, accurate quote. After an extended development period, we’re pleased to announce the release of our comprehensive Radius Product Ordering Guide, designed to make your radius ordering experience as smooth and efficient as possible.

Beginning immediately, this guide will serve as the official framework for all upcoming radius door and component requests. This marks an important step forward in our customer support process and reflects our continued commitment to delivering quality, precision-engineered products for our customers.

Why We Streamlined the Process

Custom radius manufacturing offers incredible design aesthetics, but it requires absolute precision from the initial quote to final production. By formalizing these ordering standards, we are able to reduce engineering bottlenecks and ensure your custom components are built exactly to specification the first time.

The new guide outlines clear material boundaries to maintain product durability. All radius products will continue to be produced using select grade material, and all radius rails will utilize solid wood laminated material for maximum structural integrity. Additionally, the guide clarifies product eligibility upfront—noting that MDF and Slim Shaker designs cannot be radiused, and doors over 40″ in height will be subject to Special Product Pricing (SPP). By establishing these parameters early, we can eliminate production delays and improve turnaround times on engineering reviews.

What Customers Need to Know

To make submitting your radius projects as simple as possible, our engineering team has reduced the math required on your end. Moving forward, customers only need to provide two of the four primary measurements—Radius, Chord, Arc, or Bow—and our internal team will calculate the remaining dimensions.

Standard Options & Limitations

Our standard radius-to-center options remain 12″, 18″, and 24″, measured directly to the center of the door thickness. While we can accommodate custom dimensions down to a minimum radius of 6½” depending on the design, please note that Meridian Products does not offer ellipse or non-constant radius items. Non-standard dimensions must be clearly noted, and additional charges may apply.

A Dual-Form System

We have introduced two distinct ordering paths based on the information you have available at the time of your order:

Form A: Known Radius (Most Common) Form B: Known Cabinet Dimensions
Use when: You know the specific radius dimension. Use when: You know the cabinet dimensions but not the exact radius.
Key inputs: Radius to center, door height, and reveals. Key inputs: Left/right side depths, left/right back dimensions, door height, and reveals.
Mounting: Convex/Concave; Overlay, 3/8″ Inset, or Flush Inset. Mounting: Convex or Concave.

A complete Radius Order Form (Form A or Form B) is now required for every project, acting as the foundation for the job. To support your form, you may submit full-size physical templates, detailed scale drawings, or digital CAD files to show us exactly how to build your curve.

Preparing for the Transition

This guide is designed to improve both the ordering process and your final lead times, but we understand that custom specifications require careful planning. Because every radius order is highly customized, all jobs are entered as Quotes first; a dimensioned drawing will be sent to you, and your signed approval is required before production can begin. Please plan your project timelines accordingly, as radius jobs cannot be expedited or rushed.

Our Customer Service and Sales Representatives are fully available to walk you through the new guide, help you select the correct order form, and provide shipping instructions if you need to send a physical template. If you have questions or would like support during your next project layout, our team is ready to help.

We appreciate your continued partnership and look forward to delivering beautiful, precise radius solutions for your upcoming designs.
