White Birch
White Birch is a fine-textured, closed-grain hardwood ranging from creamy white to pale yellow. Its consistent, subtle grain makes it a versatile choice for cabinetry finished natural or with light to dark stains.
Color Variation
Color ranges from creamy white to pale yellowish tones. Red heartwood is not permitted on the face, giving White Birch a lighter, more uniform appearance than Red Birch. Natural tonal variation should be expected.
Natural Grain Characteristics
Fine, closed, generally straight grain with a smooth, even texture. Subtle figure or curl may occasionally appear.
Natural Wood Features
Light mineral streaking may be present in limited amounts.
Small, tight pin knots may occur and are acceptable when they blend with the surrounding wood.
Panel Construction
Solid wood panels are manufactured for stability while maintaining the appearance of continuous solid wood. Natural variation in stave widths and well-blended panel joints should be expected.
Sapwood
Sapwood is used on the face; red heartwood is excluded from visible surfaces to preserve the pale, uniform appearance.
Stain Characteristics
One naturally occurring stain up to approximately 2" × 2" may be present on a standard-sized panel. Sticker stain is not permitted.
Reverse Side
The reverse side of White Birch components is considered non-show material and will show greater natural variation in color, grain, and characteristics.
What Makes White Birch Unique
White Birch’s pale, closed grain and freedom from red heartwood on the face make it especially well suited to natural finishes and light stains, where a clean, consistent appearance is desired.

Natural Wood Disclaimer
Wood is a product of nature. Variations in color, grain pattern, mineral streaks, knots, sapwood, heartwood, and other naturally occurring characteristics are inherent to solid hardwood and are not considered manufacturing defects. No two pieces will be exactly alike, making every project uniquely beautiful.
While Meridian Products carefully grades and inspects every component to meet the standards of the selected material grade, natural variation should be expected and appreciated as part of the character and beauty of genuine wood.
