As with all hardwood products, subtle tonal differences are a natural characteristic of genuine oak.

The defining feature of Rift Cut Oak is its straight, linear grain.

Customers should expect:

• Predominantly straight grain throughout the project
• End grain displaying an approximate 45-degree grain orientation
• Minimal plain-sawn grain patterns
• A refined, contemporary appearance

This clean grain pattern is intentionally selected to create a uniform visual effect across the finished project.

Unlike Quarter-Sawn Oak, Rift Cut Oak is specifically selected to minimize medullary ray figure.

Customers should expect:

• No prominent reflective “ribbon” flecking on visible surfaces
• Minimal darker flecking or subtle “eraser mark” figure may occur when it blends naturally with the surrounding grain
• A clean, uninterrupted grain appearance

Large, highly reflective medullary rays are not acceptable on visible surfaces.

Solid wood panels are manufactured to maximize strength, stability, and a continuous linear grain appearance.

Customers should expect:

• Carefully matched grain transitions
• Straight grain maintained across adjoining staves
• Natural variation in stave widths
• Well-blended panel joints

Each panel is assembled to preserve the clean, modern aesthetic associated with Rift Cut Oak.

Visible sapwood is not permitted on face surfaces. Minor sapwood exposure may occasionally be present in machined areas where it is subtle and does not detract from the finished appearance.

Minor naturally occurring wood stains may be present provided they blend naturally with the surrounding material and do not dominate the appearance of the component.

The reverse side of Rift Cut Oak components is considered non-show material.

Customers should expect greater natural variation in:

• Grain pattern
• Color
• Mineral streaks
• Natural wood characteristics

These variations are acceptable and do not affect the structural integrity or performance of the finished product.

Rift Cut Oak is valued for its sleek, linear grain and understated elegance. By minimizing the prominent medullary rays found in Quarter-Sawn Oak, Rift Cut creates a cleaner, more contemporary appearance while preserving the strength, stability, and natural beauty of genuine White Oak or Red Oak.

It is an excellent choice for modern cabinetry, architectural millwork, and furniture where straight grain and visual consistency are the primary design goals.

• Rot
• Structural cracks
• Open worm holes
• Checking
• Pick-out
• Tear-out
• Prominent reflective medullary ray figure
